Role Overview
We're looking for a react native mobile-focused product engineer to join our lean and mean engineering team. This is someone who is measured by what they ship and whether it worked, not by how closely they followed a spec. We’re looking for a strong engineering contributor who takes pride in their craft, owns their work end-to-end, from initial concept or spec to shipping and iterating in production to our hundreds of thousands of customers.
A large share of this role, specifically, is working on our native mobile app. Our app is where our most engaged subscribers live: notifications when a creator posts a play, real-time odds, purchases, and community. Mobile is not a port of the web product, and we need someone who has shipped, released, and iterated on real native apps in production, not just written screens. This is a core requirement.
Our team has built state-of-the-art agentic infrastructure into our engineering and product operations. We expect that you’ll use AI workflows constantly, every single day. You largely don't write code by hand. You review the code AI writes, direct its edits, and make sure it's correct before it reaches production. You actively pull new AI tooling into your workflow for code review, tests, analysis, and full features.
We're a lean team. Your work will be visible to customers within days, and you'll have real influence over what we build next.
Key Responsibilities
- Own features end to end. Concept → architecture → code → tests → launch → measurement → iteration. You own the outcome after launch, not just the merge.
- Our native mobile experience. Ship and release features in our React Native / Expo app across iOS and Android: App Store and Play Store submissions and review, over-the-air updates, push notifications and deep links, offline and poor-network behavior, native module integration, and platform-specific UX that respects each OS's conventions.
- The full stack behind it. Clean Postgres data models, performant Node.js/TypeScript APIs, and React/Next.js web interfaces — so you're never blocked waiting on someone else to expose an endpoint.
- Product judgment. Push back on requirements that don't hold up, propose the smaller version that tests the idea faster, and say when something isn't worth building.
- Instrumentation and evidence. Add the analytics and observability that tell you whether the thing worked; bring numbers to the next planning conversation.
- Craft. Speed, polish, empty states, error states, and the details that make an experience feel considered.
- Cross-functional partnership. Work directly with Product, Design, Customer Success, and the executive team — and with creators and subscribers themselves.
Qualifications
- 6+ years shipping production software, including meaningful ownership of product decisions, not just implementation of someone else's spec.
- 3+ years focused on native mobile app development. React Native / Expo strongly preferred; native iOS or Android experience is a plus. App Store / Play Store deployment / review management
- Strong intuition for good product and design. Must be able to make strong UI/UX decisions
- Deep fluency in TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js/React, and modern CSS (Tailwind, CSS-in-JS, or similar).
- Strong data-modeling capabilities and comfortable with SQL (Postgres preferred).
- Experience writing automated tests (Jest, Playwright/Cypress) and owning CI workflows.
- Familiarity with AWS serverless primitives (Lambda, SQS, RDS) is a must, expertise is a plus
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly and communicate effectively with engineering, design, product, and other stakeholders
- Adaptability and capability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
