Why Join Stand: At Stand, you’ll help build a new class of global property protection. We use advanced physics and AI to model catastrophic risk at the asset level, then automate underwriting and mitigation before loss occurs. Insurance is simply the current delivery mechanism. The real product is a scalable risk engine.
We stay when traditional insurers exit. We model what others approximate. And we build systems that change outcomes, not just prices.
Background: The property insurance industry is built to price loss after it happens. It relies on coarse proxies, backward-looking data, and manual processes, then accepts damage as unavoidable.
Stand takes a different approach. We simulate how real-world catastrophes affect individual properties, translate that into actionable decisions, and automate the business around it. The result is a platform that can underwrite what others can’t and operate with far less friction.
Role Summary: As an Account Executive, you power Stand’s growth engine by owning agency partner relationships and driving production. You qualify and appoint new agencies, convert them into high-performing partners, and deliver a broker-centric experience defined by clear communication, speed, and reliability. As an operator close to the workflow, you also improve the system itself – identifying gaps in rules, tools, and processes and feeding insights to RevOps, Product, and Risk UW. You combine executional excellence with continuous improvement to help Stand scale with speed and discipline.
Operating Style that wins:
Speed, clarity, and precision.
Reliably apply underwriting guidelines and pricing rails.
Proactively manage the agency field—never a stale or non-producing agency in your book of business.
Communicate concisely, with data; eliminate ambiguity for brokers.
Collaborate smoothly with underwriting, product, and operations.
What You Bring:
Hands-on brokerage or producer experience.
Strong sales or quota-driven performance history.
Underwriting or underwriting-assistant background at a carrier or MGA.
Comfort in high-velocity, rules-driven workflows.
HNW or hazard-related experience is helpful but not required.
Non-Negotiable Competencies:
High sense of urgency
Rigor in your work and attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Comfort with targets and incentives
Operator mindset (solves problems, avoids initiating bureaucracy)
Strong communicator (clear, concise, calm)
Dis-qualifiers:
Avoidance of broker interaction
Preference for deep, slow, analytical underwriting
Discomfort with rules-based or automated workflows
Low follow-through
Non-collaborative or ego-driven
Legacy mindset (“this is how underwriting has always been done”)
