About the Job

As a Payments Support Engineer at Niural, you will support the reliability and efficiency of the company’s global payments infrastructure. You will monitor payment activity, investigate transaction issues, and build lightweight automation to improve visibility and controls.

This role focuses on operational ownership, scripting automation, reconciliation, and cross-functional collaboration. You will help ensure that payment workflows are accurate, auditable, and continuously improving.

Responsibilities

● Monitor daily payment activity across ACH, wire, RTP, and international payment rails.
● Investigate failed, delayed, or returned transactions and conduct root cause analysis.
● Track settlement timelines and confirm the accurate movement of funds.
● Coordinate recalls, reversals, and trace requests with banking partners.
● Write Python (or similar) scripts to automate payment monitoring and reconciliation processes.
● Build alerting mechanisms for high-risk or failed transactions.
● Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations between internal systems and banking reports.
● Identify discrepancies across ledgers, wallets, and bank statements.
● Maintain audit-ready documentation of payment activity and incident resolution.
● Collaborate with Customer Support and Payroll teams to resolve payment-related inquiries.
● Partner with Treasury on funding timelines, liquidity tracking, and operational controls.
● Contribute to process improvements that reduce manual work and strengthen risk management.

Requirements

● 1–2 years of experience in a technology company that deals with payment operations, fintech, banking operations, treasury operations, or financial services.
● Ability to write automation scripts in Python or similar languages.
● Basic knowledge of SQL for querying transactional data.
● Familiarity with APIs and structured data formats such as JSON and CSV.
● Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
● Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
