Who We Are

Good Inside is redefining parenting - not as something that should “just come naturally,” but as a skill to learn and practice. Founded by Dr. Becky Kennedy and Dr. Erica Belsky, we combine sturdy leadership with innovative technology to give parents personalized guidance, AI-powered support, and a global community.

Our mission: help parents raise resilient, confident kids in a changing world. We’ve already reached millions, and we’re just getting started. We’re refining our product and expanding our reach to empower even more families.

We’re looking for bold, high-ownership problem-solvers who want to build something new, tackle big challenges, and be at the forefront of change.

The Opportunity

We’re hiring a Lead Product Manager, Retention to own one of the most critical challenges in our business: turning early parent value into consistent, habitual engagement that drives long-term retention.

You’ll diagnose where and why parents drop off, make hard prioritization calls, and rebuild the core engagement loops that bring parents back consistently. At the same time, you’ll define and execute a longer-term vision for a deeply personalized, habit-forming product experience.

This is a hands-on player-coach role. You will directly own high-impact retention work while managing and developing a junior PM. You’ll be expected to operate in the details, shaping product thinking, reviewing work closely, and raising the bar for execution across the team. You’ll work closely with Design, Engineering, Data, Content, and Marketing to deliver measurable improvements in engagement and retention.

This role reports to the Head of Product and is a hybrid role with three days a week onsite at our office in Midtown Manhattan.

What You’ll Own

Retention Strategy & Outcomes

  • Own retention as a business metric, including short-term engagement, cohort retention, and long-term member value.
  • Diagnose where parents drop off and why, combining data with a deep understanding of parent needs and behaviors.
  • Rebuild and evolve engagement loops so the product becomes a consistent, repeat part of parents’ lives.
  • Identify and drive high-leverage bets that materially improve retention.
  • Make clear, sometimes difficult prioritization decisions to focus the team on what matters most.
  • Define and track clear retention KPIs (activation, engagement frequency, content utilization, cohort retention), and hold the team accountable to outcomes.

Product Leadership

  • Directly own complex, high-impact retention initiatives as an IC.
  • Manage and develop PMs in the Retention pod (currently 1 Engagement PM), with a hands-on coaching approach.
  • Operate in the details: review product work, sharpen problem framing, and ensure high-quality execution.
  • Set a high bar for product thinking: clear problem framing, sharp prioritization, fast learning loops, and strong product instincts.
  • Partner closely with Design and Engineering leads to build a high performing, execution-focused team.

AI-Driven Personalization & Intelligent Product Experiences

  • Identify where AI meaningfully improves retention (e.g., personalization, recommendations, adaptive content, contextual nudges)
  • Lead development of AI-powered features where they drive clear value, from concept through iteration.
  • Ensure AI experiences are trustworthy, transparent, and aligned with our brand, especially given the sensitive and emotional nature of parenting.

Data, Insight & Experimentation

  • Use quantitative data and qualitative insight together to understand why parents stay or disengage.
  • Partner with Data to build clear cohort analysis and retention visibility.
  • Run disciplined experiments when needed, but apply strong product judgment when speed matters more than precision.
  • Clearly communicate insights, tradeoffs, and decisions.

Your Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of product management experience in consumer subscription, habit-forming, or engagement-driven products.
  • Proven track record of materially improving engagement and/or retention metrics (not just ship features)
  • Experience building or scaling AI-powered consumer products, either through in-house models, applied ML, or LLM-driven systems.
  • Comfortable working closely with Data / ML teams to ship real user-facing improvements (not just internal tooling or prototypes).
  • Experience mentoring PMs with a hands-on mindset.
  • Clear, direct communicator who can align cross-functional partners without over-process.
  • Bias toward action, learning, and measurable impact.

What We Offer

  • Annual compensation: base salary for this role will be $190,000- $210,000
  • Company Equity
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • 401k + Company match
  • Time off to recharge
  • Hybrid work environment
  • A high-ownership, high-performance, high-collaboration culture
