The Opportunity
Good Inside is looking for a Senior SEO Engineer to join our acquisition team. This is a full-time position and will report directly to the Head of Engineering. As a member of our web and acquisition team, you will be responsible for our marketing and acquisition user experiences. With a deep technical understanding of Search Engine Optimization, App Store Optimization and AI-based search, you will partner closely with our Marketing team and roll out effective SEO strategies. This role is a hybrid position with three days a week in our Manhattan office.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Conducting website audits to identify and resolve technical issues affecting SEO, such as broken links, crawl errors, and duplicate content.
- Optimizing website architecture, internal linking, and site speed to improve search engine crawlability and user experience.
- Ensuring proper implementation of structured data, canonical tags, and meta tags (e.g., title, description).
- Collaborating with developers to address technical requirements like schema markup, robots.txt, and XML sitemaps.
- Staying informed about AI-driven SEO tools, voice search, and evolving user behaviors.
- Experimenting with new SEO technologies and techniques to maintain a competitive edge.
- Writing and distributing clear documentation regarding SEO-related choices and processes
What We’re Looking for In Your Experience
- Start Up Growth Experience: This isn’t your first time helping a high growth startup scale. You are excited by the challenge and love creating and learning from the bottom up.
- User-Facing Web App Experience: You have worked on businesses where the end product is an app and have experience driving app user acquisition.
- Cross-Functional Marketing Experience: You have collaborated with a wide range of non-technical stakeholders with a focus on marketing and product management.
About You
- You have 8-10+ years of experience in SEO, including a mix of technical SEO, on-page optimization, and off-page strategies.
- You have 2+ years of experience with web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and the ability to work closely with other developers on SEO implementation.
- You have experience with web performance optimization tools like Lighthouse, PageSpeed Insights, or GTmetrix.
- You have experience with structured data (e.g., JSON-LD), handling canonicalization, hreflang tags, and complex URL structures.
- Familiarity with enterprise-level CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Adobe Experience Manager, or Shopify) and headless CMS setups.
- You have a strong knowledge of server-side SEO concepts, including log file analysis, server configurations, and redirects.
- You have the ability to handle complex tasks like site migrations, international SEO setups, and managing large-scale websites.
- You possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- You are a strong collaborator with the ability to foster solid team dynamics and effective cross-functional relationships
- You are a team player who is willing to take direction but can get things done on your own with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- You remain calm and organized when faced with shifting priorities and roadblocks
- Have the ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and drive results

What We Offer
- Pay range transparency: $175,000 to $195000 annually plus company equity
