Dandy is transforming the massive and antiquated dental industry—an industry worth over $200B. Backed by some of the world’s leading venture capital firms, we’re on an ambitious mission to simplify and modernize every function of the dental practice through technology. As we expand our reach globally, Dandy is building the operating system for dental offices around the world—empowering clinicians and their teams with technology, innovation, and world-class support to achieve more for their practices, their people, and their patients.

We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the CAD Applications team focused on building Dandy’s next-generation 3D design application for implant restorations. This role provides hands-on management support aligned with our distributed workforce and time zones, while driving the technical and delivery outcomes of a high-impact 3D product team. This is a product driven team managing 3D design software and viewers that drive exciting experiences for internal and external customers. This work will play a critical role in achieving our product roadmap over the next 12 months and bring some of our highest stakes research bets into full fledged production.

You’ll manage and grow a team of 3D software engineers, set technical direction, and partner closely with product, fixed/removable CAD teams, and implant stakeholders to ship reliable, scalable tools that meet our cost, turnaround time, and manufacturing integration goals.

What you’ll do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of CAD/3D engineers through 1:1s, career development, code reviews, and technical guidance

  • Own day-to-day execution across core CAD initiatives, with clear priorities, sprint hygiene, and predictable delivery

  • Drive system architecture, application design, and overall technical strategy for the 3D implant design application

  • Maintain strong stakeholder alignment with the Implant Product Owner and other CAD product teams

  • Provide clear communication and updates across engineering, product, and operations

  • Model high-quality engineering standards and promote a culture of robust, maintainable, high-performance code

  • Partner with recruiters on headcount planning, hiring, and interview processes

  • Lead occasional 3–6 month tiger-team initiatives when capacity allows

What you’ll need to succeed

  • 4+ years of experience effectively managing high performing software teams to achieve ambitious product outcomes

  • Strong engineering fundamentals and experience shipping user-facing applications

  • Strong product sense and a dedication to making customer pleasing experiences

  • Knowledge of object oriented design principles

  • Experience with cross platform code - web, server and desktop applications

  • Comfortable defining and reviewing architecture, system design, and application design decisions

  • Experience working directly with recruiters to develop and drive the recruiting pipeline and processes (including interviewing)

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail

  • Experience in profiling, debugging, and testing complex systems

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience or education

Bonus expertise welcomed

  • Full Stack JavaScript/TypeScript

  • 3D / Dental Experience

  • Worked in a cloud-based environment (GCP, AWS, or Azure)

  • Experience working directly with cross functional development teams
