About the Role
Basic Capital is building a new wealth system for everyday Americans, starting with retirement. We are creating a radically modern 401(k) experience that gives people more access, more flexibility, and better outcomes.
But the retirement world runs on trust.
And in 401(k) land, that trust is often carried by a powerful group: RIAs and plan advisors. They are the trusted cherubs of retirement plans, the translators of complexity, and the gatekeepers of what gets adopted.
We are hiring a Head of Advisor Partnerships to build the advisor channel from the ground up and make Basic Capital the platform that modern advisors choose when their clients want something better.
The Role
As Head of Advisor Partnerships, your job is to connect with and educate the leading plan advisors, offering them a radically innovative product to bring to their clients.
This is not a role for someone who wants to manage a list of partnerships.
This is a role for someone who wants to build a channel, earn trust in a skeptical industry, and create an advisor ecosystem that compounds for years.
You will build out and lead our advisors strategy and ensure we are the Advisor’s choice 401(k) platform for clients that want a modern, flexible solution.
What You’ll Do
Build the Advisor Strategy
Design and lead Basic Capital’s advisor partnerships strategy from zero to scale
Define which advisor segments we win first and why
Build a repeatable channel motion that compounds over time
Scout, Connect, and Win Leading Advisors
Identify top RIAs and plan advisors who align with the future of retirement
Build relationships, educate, and convert advisors into long-term partners
Represent Basic Capital with clarity, conviction, and credibility
Create Advisor Enablement That Actually Works
Build playbooks, messaging, and education that make advisors confident selling Basic Capital
Turn a complex product into a story advisors can explain in 30 seconds
Partner with marketing and product to create advisor-facing materials and onboarding
Operate Cross-Functionally
Be the voice of the advisor back into product and operations
Identify what advisors need to recommend Basic Capital with confidence
Help shape roadmap priorities to improve advisor experience and channel conversion

You want to create a channel that matters, not just maintain one.
What We’re Looking For
Requirements
Experience building partnerships, channels, or BD motions (especially in fintech or wealth)
Strong relationship-building and outbound skills
Ability to explain complex products clearly and credibly
Comfort working cross-functionally with product, ops, and marketing
High agency and willingness to build without a playbook
Bonus Points
Experience working with RIAs, plan advisors, or retirement distribution
Familiarity with 401(k) plans, recordkeepers, TPAs, or benefits ecosystems
Existing network in advisor / retirement communities
You have built a channel motion before and know what “good” looks like
Compensation Range: $180K - $225K
