About the Role: Axion Ray is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our India team. This role is critical to ensuring smooth financial operations, compliance, and reporting for our growing India operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Indian financial regulations and operational experience in managing day-to-day accounting and finance tasks independently.
What you'll do:
1. Taxation & Compliance:
SPOC responsible for timely compliance with all Indian tax regulations, including GST, TDS, and Income Tax filings.
Prepare and submit accurate reports required by the Indian government and regulatory authorities.
Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and government bodies as needed.
2. Accounting Operations:
Manage accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) processes.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing of books.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure adherence to Indian accounting standards.
3. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) (Nice to Have):
Assist in creating financial models to support strategic decision-making.
Provide insights through variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
4. Collaboration & Support:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including People team, legal, and India operations, to ensure financial policies are aligned with business goals.
Provide support for payroll processing and employee reimbursements.
Who you are:

Experience:
4-7 years of experience in finance operations in India, preferably in a US based startup.
Strong knowledge of Indian tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Hands-on experience with AR/AP, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
Experience in FP&A or financial modeling is a bonus.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A master’s degree or CA/CPA qualification is a plus.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
Familiarity with financial modeling tools is a plus.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across all levels.
