Luddites is a distinctive traditional retail mail order and online catalog business, specializing in unique and hard-to-find brushes, toys, housewares, optics, and sporting hardware. Our focus is on serving underserved niche markets, and we currently operate in a 6,000 square foot facility located in Yerington, Nevada. With a dedicated team of 10 individuals, we are in the process of relocating from Yerington to Reno, NV to enhance operational efficiency and better serve our customer base.
Job description
Position: Operations Manager
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Operations Manager to join our team. This role is crucial in managing key aspects of our operations, including vendor relationships, inventory management, purchase orders, and acting as a liaison between the business and the warehouse. This position does not involve managing people but focuses on efficiently overseeing processes, inventory, and vendor relations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors, negotiating terms and ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. Act as the main point of contact for vendor communication.
  • Oversee inventory levels to meet customer demand.
  • Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure optimal stock levels, minimize shortages, and prevent overstock situations.
  • Manage the creation and processing of purchase orders. Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Streamline and optimize operational processes to enhance efficiency. Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to maximize productivity.
  • Act as a key intermediary between business operations and the warehouse. Ensure effective communication and collaboration to meet operational goals.
  • Possess a basic understanding of IT processes to facilitate coordination between IT and operations when necessary. Collaborate on projects related to system enhancements or updates.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in a related industry.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience in handling inventory management and purchase order processes.
  • Some knowledge of IT processes is desirable.
  • Ability to analyze processes and implement improvements for increased efficiency.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
